For the last 3 years, we have been having weed issues. And yes, the obvious answer would be weed tarps for a professional... for us, we have been testing different methods to see which would lead to the least maintenance and cleanest look.

This past year, we tried to use a mantis tiller to weed out in between the rows and while this process did work, it took much labor, and still didn't give us the clean look we wanted. Of course we are more worried about the produce we harvest which has been significant each year regardless, but we want the garden to be friendly to visit as well.

This year in 2025, we are going to try weed tarps and burn holes in the tarp where each seed will be planted or seedlings. This way, the weed maintenance in the summer will be much more manageable.
